Our Mantra
A new age of Heineken Green Room has begun. Where machine can no longer operate without Man. And music can no longer exist without a soul.
In our quest to restore order, we have successfully pioneered four of our most revered prototypes: Jamie Woon, Ikonika, Cherry Chan and Izaak stern.
But a new gene pool of test subjects holds the key. The key to unlock the future of music.
That key, is you.
Our mission is to reconfigure the present, to re-engineer the experience, and to crystalise the future. We give new meaning to sight. And breathe new life into sound.
Cherry Chan
Heineken Sound Council member
A Melbourne stint at the age of 19 brought a loud revolution in the life of Cherry Chan. Educating herself in the ins and outs of musical grooves, she returned to Singapore armed with a bagful of tunes, pioneering the city's first all-girl DJ night, "Pop My Cherry". Since then, she has played alongside cutting-edge artistes such as Four Tet, Moderat and Hudson Mohawke. She was also a participant in London's RBMA 2010, which saw her debut track with Kiat, "Samurai Waltz", selected for a music programme on BBC Worldwide. Always ready to drop her glitchy beats and heavy bass on unsuspecting brains, you'll get the privilege of experiencing what this cherry pie can do on the decks.
Izaak Stern
Izaak Stern is on a journey across musical tangents, where nothing is prescribed and nothing is certain. The part-time cynic views beat-making as an exploratory process and claims that the end product is his unconsciousness recorded. The analog warmth of vinyl samples are often juxtaposed against the digital electronic mindset to various end results. From the bedrooms of Singapore to the speakers of London, the faceless sounds of Izaak Stern have been emerging from the depths of the underground. An experimental flavour that has left a mark on many discerning listeners and even the New York Post stated "will leave you cotton-mouthed for more".
Jamie Woon
United Kingdom
Raised in South London, Woon's musical roots began in a home studio where he experimented with multi-tracking his voice. After gaining a place in the BRIT school and racking up hundreds of hours of gigs, Woon scored his first break with the release of "Wayfaring Stranger", recently rated one of the best 12"s of the last decade. With the successful releases of the hit single, "Night Air", and his debut album, "Mirrorwriting", Woon has been offering fans a blend of soulful grooves and luminous vocals. He describes his music as personal and therapeutic, inviting listeners to decode its messages and meanings. And for one night, you'll have the opportunity to do just that.
Ikonika
United Kingdom
In the male-dominated world of Dubstep, few female DJs have made their mark quite like Ikonika. Growing up in West London under the roaring jets coming in and out of Heathrow Airport, Ikonika's music consists of unique sounds that echo within her combination of melodic synth patterns and unorthodox music structures. Her debut 12", "Please", garnered her a strong foothold in the music scene, which later saw Ikonika progress further with successful projects on Hyperdub and Planet Mu. With the release of her debut album, "Contact, Love, Want, Have", Ikonika is set to establish herself as one of the biggest names in the Electronic music scene. Prepare yourself for a lesson in Dubstep. UK style.
